The congregation of St Paul UCC has recently spent a considerable amount of time envisioning our future together and imagining how we might live out our call to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in both a practical and spiritual sense. While we are not an official Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation, we are a community that seeks to Love God, Serve One Another, and Welcome All, no matter who they are or where they are on their journey of faith. We believe that God is Still Speaking to us about this issue (among others) and so we have made the decision to better understand together what it means to be ONA and why it is such an important concern for the Church today. Where we will end up, only God knows, but we trust that wherever that may be, our willingness to wrestle with difficult, often uncomfortable, and very human questions will be blessed; our faith will be deepened; and our community will be enriched because of our faithfulness to serve Christ.
